I have unpleasant memories of having to stand up straight with my hands behind my back during those 6-hours – plus choir practices. I only sang on one side of the record as Father McCarthy recognized that my voice had changed and gave me a new and important position. I became the music page turner for the pianist/organist.
As a silent protest for my demotion, when my mother made taped copies of the record for our family friends, she only recorded the side that I was on!
