Saint Teresa's Boys' Choir Favorite Story
From: Jim McLane, Boca Raton, FL

I remember we recorded the Christmas album in different locations but recording "O Holy Night" at Mount Mercy really stands out in my mind. My cousin Billy (Schoellkopf) had the solo of the first verse and had a miserable cold. We must have run through it a number of times with his voice breaking on the high notes before Father McCarthy had him take off his tie and shoes. I remember feeling so bad for him. When he finally nailed it, and Father directed the rest of us to sing our verse together, you could hear the joy and enthusiasm in our voices.

The thing that I remember most about the World's Fair trip was Norman Grimm always spilling something on my Aunt Betty Schoellkopf. It didn't matter if he was right next to her or on the deck above her on the ferry over to the Statue of Liberty, when Norman spilled it, my Aunt was under it!

The time spent in the choir with family and friends from St. Teresa's was great and worth every second. Father McCarthy was the best and the person I still think of when I hear the word "Priest".
