| and saddened they all were. These were guys he saw each and every day, for years. As middle aged brothers I would see Dennis routinely on regular occasions. The last time I spoke with him, he was calling to see if I wanted great seats to a Bills/Browns football game. I was already going, so I thanked him and told him I’d see him over the holidays. I never did him see him. Dennis was a member of the Savios St. Teresa Boys Choir. Although he missed the first reunion party we held on December 12, 2002, he was there for the last one September 29, 2004. He had a great time. As did we all, I’m so happy he attended. This event would be the last time I saw Dennis alive. I want to thank Monsignor Leo McCarthy for saying Dennis’ funeral Mass, Joe Head and Jim Brucato for the gorgeous version of Ave Maria, Teresa Quinn and everyone else who helped put together a beautiful service at St. Teresa’s Church January 6, 2005. Recently Sue and Lauren gave me Dennis’ 1968 Gibson acoustic guitar. I am forever grateful and I can’t think of any better way to honor the former Blue Ox Band Head Roadie than to play this instrument everyday. |
